On 21st October 2024, Katherin gave another workshop for teachers, this time at James Gillespie’s Highschool in Edinburgh.
More than 120 teaching staff attended the 2-hour interactive event in which Katherin gave an overview of research on inequalities and bias and presented the project’s findings.
Feedback from participants was highly positive. They found it ‘very interesting and eye opening’ and including ‘clear information to think about the impact of you as an individual within a wider system’.
They enjoyed the discussions with colleagues and ‘looking at data’. Many of them said that the seminar will very likely impact on their practice and that the contents and activities were very useful for teachers to reflect their unconscious biases.
