BIPE Project

Welcome to our project website!

The Bias In Primary Education Project is a research study funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), which investigates how students’ socioeconomic background and ethnicity impact on teachers’ views of their attitudes to school and school performance. The project’s findings will help better understand interactions between teachers and students, and school-internal processes that contribute to social and ethnic inequalities in education.

Currently, we are analysing data from three countries:

  • England
  • Scotland
  • Germany

We also plan to use data on Ireland.
